What a small business website really costs in India

4 min read · 12 October 2026

If you ask five agencies what a website costs, you will get five very different answers, from a few thousand rupees to several lakhs. That is not because some of them are cheating you. It is because "a website" can mean very different things. This guide explains what you are actually paying for, so you can compare quotes properly and spend only on what your business needs.

The two kinds of website most small businesses need

Almost every small business in India needs one of two things.

A business website. A few pages that explain who you are, what you offer, where you are and how to contact you. Think of a clinic, a coaching centre, a CA firm, a salon or a restaurant. Visitors read, then call, WhatsApp or fill in a form. At LN Web Solutions a business website starts from ₹8,000 before GST and usually takes about 10 days.

An online store. A website where people can browse products, add them to a cart and pay online, with orders, stock and delivery handled for you. At LN Web Solutions an online store starts from ₹25,000 before GST and usually takes about three weeks.

If you are not sure which one you need, ask yourself one question: do customers need to pay you on the website, or do they contact you first? If they contact you first, a business website is enough, and you can add online payments later.

What moves the price up or down

The starting price is for a clean, fast, mobile-friendly site. These are the things that add to it.

  • The number of pages. Five pages and twenty-five pages are different amounts of work, especially when every service needs its own page.
  • Who writes the words. If you give us the text and photos, the price stays low. If you want us to write every page from scratch, that is extra work.
  • Photos. Your own real photos almost always work better than stock photos. If you have none, a short photo session is worth it.
  • Languages. A site in English and Telugu, or English and Hindi, is close to two sites in terms of content.
  • Store features. How many products, how many payment methods, delivery charges by pin code, discount codes and stock tracking all add work.
  • Connections to other tools. Sending enquiries straight into WhatsApp, a CRM or a Google Sheet, or booking appointments online, takes extra setup.

A good quote lists these items so you can see where the money goes, and drop what you do not need yet.

The costs that come every year

A website is not a one-time cost. Whoever builds it, these come round every year, and you should know who pays for them.

  • Domain name. Your address, such as yourbusiness.in. It renews every year.
  • Hosting. The server your website lives on. It also renews every year.
  • Email. If you want addresses like info@yourbusiness.in, check whether they are included in the hosting or charged separately.
  • Updates and small changes. New prices, a new service, an updated photo. Ask whether these are included, charged per change, or covered by a monthly plan.

One important rule: the domain should be registered in your name, with your email, so you can never lose it if you change agencies.

Questions to ask any agency before you pay

Use these questions with any agency, including us.

  • Is the price fixed, and exactly what does it include?
  • How many rounds of changes are included before extra charges start?
  • What is the delivery date, and what can delay it?
  • Will the domain and hosting be in my name? Who pays the yearly renewals, and how much are they?
  • Will I be able to change text and photos myself?
  • Who owns the website when it is finished?
  • What happens if something breaks after launch?

If an agency cannot answer these clearly in writing, keep looking.

How it works with us

You tell us about your business, and we give you a fixed quote with the price, what is included, the number of revisions and the delivery date. A free call comes before the quote so we understand what you need. You pay 50% to begin and 50% at launch, and the finished website is yours once it is paid in full.

If you want to see the order we would build things in for your kind of business, with starting prices, try our two-minute plan builder on this website, or message us on WhatsApp.
